Jason Richards is a national security and technology executive with more than 20 years of experience leading at the intersection of law enforcement, national security, intelligence, and enterprise technology. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he most recently served as the Assistant Director of the Information Technology and Applications Data Division, with responsibility for enterprise IT serving law enforcement, national security, intelligence, and administrative programs.

In these roles, Jason led large-scale technology and operational transformation efforts supporting mission-critical law enforcement and intelligence operations. He was responsible for modernizing legacy systems, advancing data-driven capabilities, and aligning complex organizations around execution—delivering systems and outcomes that perform under real-world conditions. 

His recent work has focused on artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, helping organizations move beyond pilots to real adoption. He brings an execution-first approach—ensuring AI capabilities are secure, governed, and operationally integrated, particularly in environments where trust, accountability, and precision are essential.

Jason is known for cutting through complexity and driving results. He operates with a clear bias for action, shaped by decades of experience where timelines are tight and mission outcomes matter.

He founded JWR Strategies, LLC to help organizations execute IT transformation, AI strategy and governance, cybersecurity, and intelligence integration. He brings a rare skill set filled with operational, technical, and legal experiences. At his core, he is driven by service, mission impact, and the need to deliver—consistently and effectively.
